Client:
Intel
The Intel Home Computing web site offers information about technology
products and services for consumers.
Client Challenge:
In preparation of the launch of its re-designed
Home Computing site, Intel needed to evaluate the current site within
a competitive framework. Intel also needed to identify specific
usability issues while the site was in prototype form to allow for
changes and modifications before launch.
The Westport Company Response:
In a two-phased approach, we conducted focus groups and one-on-one
in-depth Experience Probe interviews with "tech-savvy"
consumers. The focus group discussions identified detailed reactions
to Intel's site, as compared to two competitive sites, including
relative benefits and the value of specific components.
Through this combined research approach, Intel
was able to identify navigational issues and assess users' understanding
of nomenclature and information elements of the new site design.
